Ernest Green and Elizabeth Eckford

In 1958, Ernest became the first black student to graduate from Central High school and from Michigan State University. He served as an Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs under President Jimmy Carter. Green currently is a managing partner and vice president of Lehman Brothers in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth is the only one from the nine still living in Little Rock, Arkansas. She made a career of the U.S Army that include work as a journalist. Eckford returned to the home which she grew up in and is now part -time social worker in 1974. She is also a mother of two sons that she had.
